Experience and Passion
Evelyn Bash has over 30 years of experience in custom sewing. In
1992, after recognizing her passion for the special fabrics and
laces she used to create her own daughterís wedding dress, she
began specializing in bridal and special occasion dresses.
The term couture is used to describe the finest sewing. Evelyn
uses finishes and techniques above and beyond those used in
ready-to-wear garments. She has studied couture topics with such
nationally respected designers as
Susan Khalje and
Kenneth D. King.
A member of ASDP, the
Association of Sewing and Design Professionals, Evelyn keeps up on current trends and new techniques by
attending educational conferences and seminars.
In 2002 and 2004, Evelyn entered a dress in the annual
Challenge to members of ASDP. The rules of these challenges required
each entry be made of denim in 2002 and use stripes in 2004.
She was honored that her garments won awards both times. The 2002 denim entry won the top prize out of
over 70 entries and was featured in the January 2003 issue of the magazine. The 2004 stripe entry won
the second prize of 'Most Imaginative Use of Stripes' out of 19 finalist garments
and was featured in their November 2004 issue.
